Conference Focus
The industrial use of electricity has always been the driving force for our economic development. This ranges from energy supply to the social networks of modern communication, which would be unconveivable without electric current.
However, electric current can also present hazards if its application is not safe. Especially since the new applications and technologies in the field of smart grid and electromobility are developing rapidly it is important today to take care that these work safely and people are not endangered by electricity.
Electrotechnical standardization is already providing a high level of protection for people and property. This level needs to be maintained for new technologies and applications too.
This is why the symposium addesses topics where science and industry must join forces with standardization to make a substantial contribution to the safe generation, distribution and use of electricity.
Topics
- Standardization: personal safety, safe products, test procedures
- Risk assessment: acceptable risk, risk terminology, risk reduction, product safety and plant safety
- Electric shock: DC, AC, limit curves, high-frequency currents
- Arc fault: burn injuries, prevention, effects of lightning
- Electrical safety in medical therapy: stimulation, stimulation currents, musculature
- New technologies / innovations: smart City, smart Grid, AAL, smart home, Electromobility, new battery technologies
